Since Week 4, the Eagles have scored more than 17 pts only twice: 28 vs MIN (includes a defensive TD) and 38 vs NYG

PHI failed to score 18+ vs DEN, GB, DET, NYG (stymied by the same team they whooped 2 wks later)

2025 feels like a wildly inconsistent ride that has gotten consistently worse of late

I have loved watching the Eagles defense over the past 2 weeks

But watching the offense felt like a punishment

Even Adoree Jackson was great tonight.

A strange sentence, but a factual one.

Southern Delaware (Sussex County, where this chapter is from) is very red…so it’s not at all surprising to me.

Northern Delaware (where most of the state’s population lives) is very blue.

Delaware fought for the Union, but it was a state in which many enslaved people lived prior to the Civil War.

Level 2: Playground.

They do all the work.

You just watch and retain your own energy. Especially if you bring coffee haha

This team wants to play the ball control game & help keep the defense fresh (it isn’t as deep as last year’s)

Problem is, opposing teams know that the Eagles want to run, move the chains, and chew the clock, so the playcalling needs to evolve, at least enough to keep them honest

It hasn’t.

Yet.
November 13, 2025 at 3:03 AM
No one is talking about it, but the O line also isn’t playing at the same level

But playcalling is the biggest issue for me. If it’s lackluster & unimaginative, the offense won’t fire on all cylinders. For whatever reason, training wheels didn’t come off after the bye week like they did in 2024

Yep, great piece; terrific insight about the deteriorating relationships with staff and players alike. That brand of interpersonal management may have been tolerable decades ago, but it’s a death knell in today’s NFL…especially on a 2-8 team
November 11, 2025 at 4:48 PM
You play to win the game, and this is the very franchise that once won a Super Bowl and beat peak Tom Brady after sneaking into the playoffs as a 6 seed

That said, ineffective management locker room personalities and poor staff relationships absolutely shorten the shelf life of an NFL coach in 2025

Coaches are paid to win, not punt seasons in October and early November. Given the state of DAL & WAS, I don’t fault Daboll for doing what he could to win games with the hand the team was dealt by personnel decisions, injuries, etc.
November 11, 2025 at 4:28 PM
As far as Daboll’s decision to play Dart goes, for example, Schoen & co. brought in not one, but 2 high-profile vet QBs, taking valuable preseason/camp reps away from Daboll’s QB of choice and delaying the passing of the reins

Lose/lose scenario, especially after Nabers and Skattebo went down
November 11, 2025 at 4:28 PM
Don’t doubt for a second that there were issues there, but while Daboll paid the price for his miscues, management above him apparently has impunity

They also get to pick a new coach to inherit collective organizational dysfunction

Rinse, repeat scenario incoming until that changes

I feel your pain, Giants fans…it’s a complete role reversal from the decades I endured as a kid when the Giants (along with the Cowboys) were juggernauts and the Eagles couldn’t get out of their own way

Best wishes for quick & full recoveries for Skattebo and Nabers 🙏
November 11, 2025 at 3:45 PM
Saquon Barkley shines after leaving, and then Schoen brought in two high profile veteran QBs to camp…both of whom took valuable spring & summer snaps away from 1st Round QB Jaxson Dart, who clearly has “it”
November 11, 2025 at 3:45 PM
The Giants likely win super-close DAL, CHI, and DEN games with Nabers…putting them 5-5, 2nd place in the East, and in the hunt

Feels like Joe Schoen should’ve gone first
