FWIW, from what I recall the public editors were effective at articulating that kind of middle ground. They all came from long careers as reporters and editors (rather than as "posters")

If automated driving only ends up meeting the economics and tolerances of airport pick-ups, then it will still appear as if it has conquered 100% of the market for ground transport... since it's only the trip to and from the airport that Thomas Friedman writes about.

FWIW, it's often not just landlords "wanting" higher paying retail tenants. It's a firm requirement from their own lenders.

I agree with the other replies. Christine Pelosi has a fine amount of experience to run for state legislature relative to others who have succeeded (as well as failed) at it. Her positions on the important issues are the real open questions...

(And if his county is similar to Alameda County, a chartered club will probably be a better use of his time to meet folks who are looking to join up and work together, rather than the too often internecine conflicts of the AC Dem Central Committee itself :|
