I’m a bit confused what is being asked for in this specific case. The only way to stop it is winning an election in 2026 and letting Speaker Jeffries put in his own rules. Attacking McBride for being powerless to me seems unfair. We need to win elections so she CAN have a say in the house rules

Can I ask what the criticism is for though? These are house rules. She’s in the minority she will not get a vote. No democrats get to vote on house rules. The speaker institutes rules after he/she is sworn in.
I feel like people are eating their own when they had no avenue to do anything.

Why Nancy? Hakeem is the leader. However democrats do not get to vote on house rules. The majority introduces the rules package unilaterally. There is quite literally nothing they can do about this other than win in 2026. McBride also has no vote so what do people want her to do?

This is false. As McBride noted there are gender neutral bathrooms in the capital. 2 at every rest area. They don’t have to share the bathroom with anyone of the wrong gender. Beyond that, what did you want her to do? She doesn’t get to vote on the majority house rules.
