Any word what the full list is, or is this just a pre publication leak?

Personally I’d leave the UK on BST forever. I can’t wait to leave work in daylight and potentially even go for a nice walk after work in sunlight for the next few months 😊

After the last few weeks do you think something as flimsy as the constitution would stop that?

My colleagues know me too well - usually spotted either swivelling my chair or messing with my pen when on Teams. 🙈

She does romance scam investigation as well though. Seems a useful person to know 🤷‍♂️.

Today I’ve seen PAs doing brain surgery and ex-brain surgeons doing dog grooming. 🙈

Absolutely : plus complex systems have elastic limits for performance. Outside their intended performance characteristics you get sharp drops in productivity - from doing the right things in the wrong place or with the wrong team, or firefighting rather than preventative work.

Got to bow to your expertise on this Kate - you’ve got to focus on retention but not worry about improving staff’s working lives despite major challenges in morale and burnout.

How does that work: indentured servitude? Some claps maybe?

Imagine you get on a boat with a laptop, writing a word document. You cross the international date line and then try to hit save. What might happen is you now can’t save for a day because the new file is older then the last saved file! This problem is ‘old hat’ in mission-critical computing.

You convert all the entered or fetched dates and times (ie BST or GMT) into UTC (universal time constant): so the software uses UTC regardless of the local time. This is why air traffic control still works and the internet doesn’t crash despite time zone changes. EPMA seems to be an aberration.

As a former CCIO I have never had a clear answer on why this is the case. Computers use UTC to record date/times,
and have done for so many years that clock changes make absolutely no sense to me 🤷‍♂️.

Second is a feeling of controlled chaos: there is feeling busy, and feeling overwhelmed by chaos. If you’re in control you tend to go into a busy shift positively. If you lose control you can feel the moral injury kicking in. Micromanagement often pushes towards chaos rather than business.

So I do lots of ED inreach as a medic rather than ED. But I’d say stuff that makes the job easier. Eg Make sure all computers work (no dead mice or sticky keyboards). All paperwork is to hand and stocked up. Spare pens!. Manageable processes so you can focus on the task in hand.

I found No Man’s Sky scratches that itch massively for me 😊

Are there quantum physicists in a given area? Or are the quantum physicists in all the areas at the same time?
