A goal of the new administration’s subversion will be to finish what Reagan started & end US govt funding for science & medical research, further driving these fields into the hands of corporate funders who have a vested interest in outcomes and have already harmed the quality of research in the US.

Technology tries to present itself as something that is only positive with the potential to create advancement in society. But many new technologies require an amount of electronic power and grad capacity that does not currently exist. Its environmental costs are very significant.

Ignorance re science is a big problem. Both pro & anti science factions mostly spread ignorance. Anti’s pose some good questions but are too skeptical & cynical. Pro’s are too doctrinaire & non-critical. Neither educates people re science. Here is a good take frm Pete Seeger. Watch from 5:04-7:30.

If these findings are accurate, Americans should be ashamed that instead of fighting for universal healthcare, they waited for a young man to commit murder & risk life in prison or death in order express their will rather than take political action to force change in our pathetic healthcare system.

Jazz is America’s great contribution to world music although it rarely gets its due in this country. A Great Day in Harlem is a famous photograph of 57 of the best jazz musicians taken in NYC by photographer Art Kane for Esquire magazine on August 12, 1958. Of the group only Sonny Rollins remains.
