And while I could go on forever about the animation alone, but something I only really appreciated once I was finished was the way every character had been written almost as their own sub-genre, and the entire thing is framed as so many rich stories living in such a small space. I miss them already.

It's such a good comedy anime because it's not just singularly gag-based - every detail is made to draw you into the scene so that the payoff is worth it. The gags are the entire setup, which you could watch dozens of times and still find more to appreciate. It's 1000% effort just for the hell of it

I came out of it thinking more or less yup that was a 2025 action movie, but it was nice to watch something so movie-first for a change to just enjoy the cinematics and stunt work.
Was quite fond of honor-bound murder girl though it's just a great character type for Situations

I double checked for sanity and it really is a stark difference, but now that I look at the ScVi texture it might actually be a clever trick
You can see it around the eyes - they're both reflective in the same way, but the contrast is only noticeable with gold since orange is so saturated

Also I think it's very funny that shiny Magikarp isn't just a palette swap, the shiny form is actually shaded differently. It is actually golden
