Every therapy room has a sand tray and miniatures to facilitate self-expression and self-exploration.

They like it all. It’s in a kitchenette away from children but parents can pop in and select what they want. I don’t keep candy because I work with young kids and would worry about it getting everywhere.

Sometimes, all kids want to do is come in and mix sand with their hands. It’s physically soothing, offers auditory stimulation, and when adding adding color, can offer a sense of visual blending and coming together into a cohesive whole.

Good morning on this winter solstice.

Our home was filled with people over the weekend. The dog is watching for their return.
