Plus “CC offsetting schemes” are currently being used to justify a load of NEW fossil fuel projects. Such schemes not only can’t offset the extra emissions generated, they actually ADD to emissions. So it’s doubly disastrous.

The point is that emissions GENERATED by gas-based CC are far greater than emissions captured by it, due to upstream supply chain emissions - especially methane. So CC makes climate change WORSE.

The thing is the science shows that it will barely reduce them, if at all. And pretending it will is actually making matters far worse as it’s being used as an excuse to INCREASE fossil fuel use through apparent but deeply-flawed “offsetting” schemes. It’s total planet-destroying propaganda 😢
