Very pleased to finally visit Manchester. I like it. Gritty and unpretentious. Queen Bee Emmeline and her loyal Worker Bee Annie Kenney. #Manchester #suffragettes #pankhurstcentre

My absolute favourite early film posters showcasing the spectacular Nazimova. Imagine the blaze of colour outside the local cinema on a grey dull day. Sublime 😊

Madame Tussauds capitalising on the newsworthy status of Suffragettes in 1908. No denying WSPU marketing savvy. Respectable, authoritative Women organising the business of achieving Votes for Women. ILN 12/08.

I am not entirely convinced this is a true story.

Powerful images of Black Friday (18 November 1910) Suffragettes surrounded by leering men. Mrs Massy and Mrs Wilcock/Willcox struggle with police. Multiple Women reported sexual assaults by plain clothes Police. The media urged to suppress images of the event.

Veteran Suffragettes of the Suffragette Fellowship (1928 - 1977) tirelessly led publicity of the all female production of Shoulder to Shoulder 1974. Imagine their excitement and pride.

Prisoner’s Day
The Suffragette Fellowship commemorated members of the WSPU and the WFL in October every year from the 1930s. Bayard Simmons was one of the first Suffragents imprisoned for the Cause. Anna Munro was a member of the WFL. #suffragette

Always grateful to TROVE for digitised archives. Vida Goldsteins autograph book is a treasure trove of Suffragette goodies. Particularly touched by commemorative efforts of Suffragettes to honour their sister Suffragettes who died for the Cause. Mary Clarke was a sister of Emmeline Pankhurst.
