But the magnitude of that force is an illusion, it's merely less friction and other methods are still viable.

6. The actual interaction experience is mediocre and other apps do it better. It's only strength is that everyone is already there, which almost forces you to be there too if you want to do business or stay in touch with people.

You realize people turn to these apps to escape bad situations right? People with disabilities who can't stand at an assembly line for 10 hours straight, and why should they?

5. The general FB community's caustic attitude toward TikTok. People memeing that TikTok influencers will "have to get a real job" if the app is banned.

4. Politicians buying meta stock before the TikTok ban. If a few of us can do something that shows them the middle finger to insider trading, that's just a cherry on top.

3. Security concerns, I heard messenger was at the top of a lot of security professionals lists. I haven't confirmed for myself any of that and honestly it's really low on my prio list, but getting served ads for things I'm talking about aloud is a little unsettling.
