Exactly, the assumption I think comes from lumping Tik Tok into the same category as other social platforms like Instagram. It is very VERY different.

I understand how that term might be triggering. Some, like myself, feel truly displaced by blackout. It was a doomscroll habit, I will admit, but it was also a community, emotional support since quarantine, and a source for global news. For some of us, it was how we stayed connected.
