This is my girl Hannah, who passed away at the beginning of July this year. She was a former feral who hated other cats, barely tolerated people who weren't me, and I loved my cranky old girl dearly.

Welp, Will's vet visit itself was largely uneventful - he was well-behaved for the vet and even let the vet and vet tech pick him up. In the car, though, he complained loudly and tried to dig his way out of his crate. Also took his cone off and peed on it and the blanket in his crate.

In other news, got to see the Northern Lights last night with the help of my camera - and I heard they might be even more intense tonight, and visible without camera assistance! Keeping my fingers crossed for that, I love the Northern Lights.

Sushi is such a sweet little dude - I take care of him sometimes when Sage is out of town, and he and his brother Oni are always so excited to see me when I'm there. I really hope he recovers from whatever's going on with him - kitty health issues are scary.

Still, I'm bummed that it's gone. I had fun playing it, and I liked the ability to play with others without needing to go find people like in Words with Friends or other similar games.

Been spending lots of time with these cute goobers this week. They've settled in here pretty quickly, and it's so fun learning more about their individual kitty personalities.

Went to the animal shelter today thinking that Lucas and I would look at cats, though we weren't entirely planning on bringing any home... but then I fell in love with these two babies at the shelter, and now I have two cats again! Meet Moira (the black cat) and Will (the tabby cat)!

Just finished scanning a pile of old negatives my sister and I found while we were digging through stuff at our mom's house this past weekend. Going to share some of my favorite old photos over the next few days, but first, a shout-out to the little scanner that made it all possible.

Just got back from a 4-day conference in Denver - and before the conference I had to medicate Hannah for a claw bed infection. Two weeks of pills. It was rough. She hated it. 🥺
Poor girl is hiding from me - I bet she thinks I'm going to try to give her a pill. 😭

One of my favorite enjoyable distractions lately: watching Severance.
It's unsettling (but in a good way, if that makes any sense?) and I'm really enjoying it. I binged the heck out of the first season and a half - now I'm patiently waiting for the rest of season 2 to come out...

Took the day off today. I feel like I'm nearing burnout and need some time to rest and recharge.

Oh my goodness, Pumpkin looks and sounds almost EXACTLY like my old lady Hannah, right down to the "frickin' hates other animals" bit. If Vermont wasn't so far away and if I had a big enough house to separate Pumpkin and Hannah without too much nonsense, I'd adopt her in a heartbeat.
