Empowering TERFs wasn’t about improving the lives of cis women and girls, so viewing it through the lens of “they thought this would work but it didn’t” isn’t quite right. It was about harming trans people for TERFs and oppressing women and girls for their enablers, and they got what they wanted

With stuff like “mandatory sex testing for women athletes,” the point isn’t that TERFs will finally see the errors of their ways. The point is that TERFs never should have been given the power to harm trans people and eventually cis women too in the first place
