While looking at this King Ghidorah fig i also realized Charizard's original sprites rly resemble Ghidorah with arms and only one head... the shape of the head and horns and body are so similar ( ；∀；) the flame on zard's tail here even resembles the spikes/tufts on the ends of ghidorahs 2 tails

They even had godzilla and mechagodzilla clones... no confirmation of exactly when Omega was scrapped but Gyaoon was scrapped in 1993 which is when heisei Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla came out. Perhaps they were worried about looking too obviously "inspired" :)

Nint trying to stop anyone from being able to make anything like pkmn is hilarious considering it started as " what if we made a final fantasy game where you use gacha capsules to catch ripoffs of SD style godzilla and ultraman kaiju gacha toys" and then they pretended it was based on "bug catching"
