Plus it's kinda curious that both series got their definitive narrative and thematic conclusions around the same time. Maybe that's just me drawing too many connections though.

There was a solid week after it went up on YouTube that it played on a loop on my PC. Getting the first look at a new Matrix movie mere weeks after the final Evangelion film just had some kind of effect on me.

I wish I could see the world where I was exposed to more of Oshii's work before I watched Evangelion and know what that version of myself would be like. Probably more sullen.

So many emotions seeing this happen for the first time and it manages to have the best possible outcome. Absolutely beautiful.
