The damage is generational. What a shame that we all can't agree on doing something about it.
The Brennan Center spoke with @aratip.bsky.social, former chief advisor for science and technology under President Biden, about what the Trump administration’s blanket funding freeze could mean for the science community and the country.

The complexity of poverty. It's never as easy as "not wanting to work".
SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

The liberating power of "Enough".
Greed is a sin/disease for a reason.
Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

Let’s not forget what ushered humanity in to the Dark Ages: Christians deciding that they didn’t like science in favor for only the Bible.

It set humanity back hundreds of years.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Unbelievable. What's in those files? Geez.
The people in Arizona’s 7th congressional district have been without representation in Congress for over 7 months.

Mike Johnson continues to deny them representation because their duly elected representative has pledged to sign the petition to release the Epstein files.

So the voucher scheme- that we already knew didn't work - isn't working? Duh
GOP candidates everywhere are pushing Betsy DeVos’s voucher schemes.

Education’s version of predatory lending.

3/4 of kids who use them were already in private school.

But the lower-income kids who do switch suffer catastrophic learning loss.

Who's $ laundering?
If That’s a donation, it goes to the treasury and only congress can decide how to spend it. No such (lawful) thing as private payment of government obligation.
