An arts’ degree shouldn’t preclude careers elsewhere. I studied History at BA and Medieval History PhD. 26 years in the software industry in technical roles mostly. I’ve hired classicists (indeed a classicist hired me into IT), Eng Lit and MFL students. Gove got it wrong.
