That happens to older people too. I reinvented myself at university when I went age 31. It opened worlds to me that I wouldn’t otherwise have thought about. (I also benefited from the company of younger people.)

I did this in Scapa Flow too - having never been diving and not knowing what a dry suit was. But as a consequence I
ended up snorkelling in November on Islay, and there were seals in the water who played with us. It was beautiful and magical. Go there next. Getting older brings good things.
