Not so much since COVID, sadly. The Classics section at the Strand used to be so much better. So many OCTs and Loebs to be had at a fantastic price. Hopefully it rebounds soon.

Sadly, the answer, as it is to many etymological queries, is just we don't know (yet, at least). Probably a non-IE word designating the people living there.
