Finished “The Good House” after I read “The Reformatory”. @tananarivedue.bsky.social reels you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat … while also delivering a strong message of how the past can always come back to haunt the present. Reading next:

Sinking my teeth into my spooky season reading “early” 🧛‍♀️ “Thirst” -can’t go wrong when it starts with a quote about the Bloody Countess Elizabeth Bathory. 🧛‍♀️ “The Historian” listening to the audiobook which brings back memories of Anne Rice’s Lestat telling his story.

If you are going to pick up a book this fall make it @tananarivedue.bsky.social “The Reformatory”. Incredibly written. Draws you in with raw and gut wrenching storytelling that reminds us all of the strength in telling our stories — not just for us but for all of those whose voices were silenced.

Inspirational work by artists at Syzygy on the theme of “silent violences” covering topics from femicide to intersectional “bodies”. Looking forward to giving my talk today on shifting the gaze on female embodied knowledge by ta(l)king back our stories. So many ideas to bring home with me…
