& this is still one of the best books I've ever read. I remember being on holiday & not being able to put it down. Problem is, I now see it as a story.

One thing I’m most pleased about is this figure that distinguishes the peer review process for Registered Reports from that of standard research articles. Students need to understand the peer review process to understand this new publication format, but many figures don’t depict this. (4/6)

This guide provides an overview of what Registered Reports are and how they work, responds to FAQs, outlines barriers & solutions to their implementation, and offers 10 top tips for students and researchers. (2/6)

Never thought I'd see the day that I converted Channing Tatum to Open Science, but here we are!

From my book, "A Student's Guide to Open Science", I outline the following:
November 27, 2024 at 3:19 PM
Estimates of test-retest reliability varied considerably between tasks and their component measures:
November 13, 2024 at 1:47 PM
150 participants completed the race-Implicit Association Test (r-IAT), Stimulus-Response Compatibility (SRC) task, Emotional Go/No-Go (eGNG) task, Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), Dot Perspective-Taking (DPT) task, State Affective Empathy (SAE) task, & Explicit Bias (EB)...
November 13, 2024 at 1:47 PM
In our new (and now revised!) preprint, we investigated the test-retest reliability of common experimental tasks used to measure social cognitive abilities (2/5)

It's the start of a new academic year & many are developing & updating their teaching materials!

To inspire some content & activities, I've compiled my lectures, seminars, & workshop materials on an OSF page, across UG and PG levels!

Just updating for you now. Head to: osf.io/n4vaq/ and then to "Open Science Teaching & Resources". 😊

Thanks so much, Ashley! Yes @adw.bsky.social my book has a few 'interactivities' 🤣 that I paste below. Here's an accompanying PowerPoint, too: osf.io/tuyfd

I've updated my OSF teaching materials in recent years so I'll let you know once I've updated that OSF page (this served as a timely reminder)!

Your ethics application can become your preregistration which can become your manuscript.

Oo, perhaps for the first time, I disagree with @lakens.bsky.social (& agree with Smriti Mehta) here:

Preregistration should be about the severity of the analysis AND the hypothesis...

If I run 15 tests, I'd want to know which one best confirms my hypothesis. (1/X)

"Much well-designed and preregistered research is conducted but never published...

Making this research public would help us all to do better science."

💯, I could not agree more! That's why I wrote the following in a recent paper of mine; learn from my mistakes!
