Of course there are blue skies all day whilst I'm sitting at my desk marking ☀️. The thought of a beer in the sun at 5pm pushed me through...goodbye blue sky, hello cloud ☁️☁️

As a researcher I am shocked about the lack of published research papers that discuss what it's really like to live with Strabismus/Binocular Vision Dysfunction, & the limited empirical evidence on the range of symptoms that are frequently discussed within the strabismus community.

Absolutely! I was at a comedy show last Friday night and the comedian spent a good 10 minutes on a joke about "lazy eyes" Obviously the same stereotypes of being stupid, untrustworthy etc. 🙄
It makes no sense to me that strabismus/cross eyed/lazy eye can still be mocked in an era where disability is becoming more accepted, but even in “left” circles, mocking strabismus is acceptable. Would we not frown upon someone mocking someone in a wheelchair? Why is strabismus any different?

A study just published by medics, highlights the stigma associated with strabismus 👀 In animated films characters with strabismus are more likely to be represented negatively e.g. portrayed as unintelligent or as villains. publications.aap.org/pediatrics/a... #Strabismus #representation #research
