The red circle shows the last find of Watling st. This map has it running through a marsh.
It is completely wrong in north Southwark, a good chunk of the road is in the soggy bit of the port. Difficult to work out where this was sourced.

From the times article The document showed that an oak desk with an electronic adjustment system was purchased for £877 from Domli. The documents suggested this was later returned, as Bell received a refund and instead submitted an Ikea receipt for £1,056, including three desks at £150 each. He also claimed £112 for the assembly of the furniture. He claimed £596 for three ergonomic office chairs and another £113 for furniture assembly.

Roman frescoes reassembled in London after 1,800 years One of the largest collections of painted Roman wall plaster ever discovered in London has been uncovered in Southwark, offering an extraordinary glimpse into the decoration of a high-status Roman building that was demolished almost 2,000 years ago. The fragments were recovered by archacologists from MOLA (Museum of London Archacology) during excavations at The Liberty a development site that has already revealed a Roman mausoleum and intricate mosaic flooring. The painted plaster had been dumped in a pit following the demolition of a Roman structure sometime before AD 200. It is thought that the building had originally stood between AD 43 and 150. Over the course of three months, MOLA senior building material specialist Han Li painstakingly sorted and reconstructed the shattered fragments, comparing colours, motifs, and painted borders to reassemble sections of the original compositions. "This has been a 'once in a lifetime' moment," said Li."I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness when I started to Lay the plaster out. It was like assembling the world's most difficult jigsaw puzzle." The resulting reconstructions reveal a series of repeating bright yellow panels, a rare motif in Roman Britain, decorated with birds, fruit, flowers, and lyres. Yellow panel designs of this kind have only been identified at a handful of other sites, including Fishbourne Roman Palace. Their repetition here suggests the room was designed to impress, emphasising the owner's cultural refinement and wealth. Some fragments imitate exotic building materials, including red porphyry from Egypt and African giallo antico marble. The wall painting styles show influences from across the Roman world, with parallels found at Xanten and Cologne in Germany; Lyon in France, and Pompeil in Italy The site has also yielded remarkable graffiti. Lots of copies of Britannia by Frere. This is the best Frere story I’ve seen from Kenyon’s Excavations in Southwark.
Mr. Frere gave invaluable help, both as Secretary of the Committee and by taking charge of the excavation of several of the sites. He also carried out a preliminary detailed survey of bombed sites, plotted on the 25 in. O.S. map, in the course of which he narrowly escaped arrest as a possible enemy agent. To his enthusiasm and

Yes John Morris and Geoffrey Ashe (?). Morris based his ideas on the reading of Nennius. Leslie Alcock went off to dig South Cadbury and published ’By South Cadbury that is Camelot…’ I read the Cadbury volume at university I don’t remember the extent of the Arthurian stuff.

Hi I had a look at the Placenames of London. Back to 1370 and a possible Roman stone.
Leyton 148 The Riverdale Centre here takes its name from the early 19th-century Riverdale Mill, one of several mills once situated along the River RAVENSBOURNE. Leyton Waltham Forest. Lugetune c.1050, Leintune 1086 (Domesday Book), Luiton 1201, Leyton 1226, that is 'farmstead or estate on the River LEA', from Old English tun. This name is thus identical in origin with Luton in Bedfordshire. From the 16th to 19th centuries it was often known as Low Layton or Low Leyton (as on the Ordnance Survey maps of 1805 and 1883) because part of the parish is on low-lying land by the Lea. Essex Hall, a late 15th-century timber-framed house, survives on the site of the original manor house. Leytonstone Waltham Forest. Leyton atte Stone 1370, Leyton Stone 1426, Leghton Stone 1449, Layton Stone 1805, that is 'part of LEYTON at the stone', from Middle English atte 'at the' and stone, referring to the 'High Stone', reputed to be on the site of a Roman milestone.
