On the other hand, my gut reaction is that it is diluting the art and the science of medicine. Although as medicine becomes more process oriented, evaluations will change as well. The extent of the data does account for critical aspects beyond the art and the science which is a good thing.

On one hand, I welcome this. You can't improve what you don't measure. And, traditional approaches to evaluation are very incomplete and very prone to bias.
