After 19 years in the #CSU system, this type of unilateral decision-making from the Chancellor's office is nothing new. Oh, and, there is no actual plan to teach/train faculty on how to implement or use it; it's a unilaterally imposed "choose your own adventure" with no one's consent. 🫠

Another thought occurs that it may be difficult to find a statistician vetting effect size only because, in my convos with math statisticians, many see effect size as a solely descriptive stat—which is why its discussion with power analysis (and the p-value logic) is more interesting to them.

I don’t have the first citation, but by 2001, effect size and power analysis was well accepted—and one use critiqued—by statisticians (esp. biostatistics). See Hoenig and Hessey in American Statistician community.jmp.com/kvoqx44227/a...

I don’t think it’s inevitable. Instead, so many accounts that left X/Twitter for this platform named this platform and even posted how-to directions for finding contacts on here from X. So, I think it was simply the bots, the anti-intellectuals, and conservative networks used that info to migrate
