I like to make things, read stuff, and sometimes to go places.
I am unbelievably proud of how well this crab came out. I know quite well how it jumps and snaps (I let it run before installation, did a loop of six thousand jump and snaps), but it still surprised me while I was taking the closeup.

Louisiana's Cajun Bayou is the best visitor's center I've ever seen. I've been on the project the whole time, and left with some brochures for things I didn't know about and want to see 😁

I started looking at smart watches and decided I don't want one, and picked up a classic instead.

I'll never quite understand leaving behind glasses after a party. We do maintain a lost and found at our house for parties, but prescription glasses are always a surprise. Sunglasses are common, parties often end in the dark. Shoes, sure, seems odd but someone else drove them home. But glasses?

This museum project is rolling. Today we assembled five of the two-station tech boards, each with two of the controllers and brightsigns...each of these boards will handle two stations, and a station has one monitor, sound, presence sensor, and up to eight buttons to trigger various media.

Today is pizza poetry night, and we got the wrong pizza. We straightened it out, and I got this extra awesome poem!

Now that I'm doing this professionally, I can say that professionals always plan their wiring with tape and string 😆

Boards are cut and soon velcro will get glued to them to hold everything. We will build and assemble all of them and test here before eventually installing on-site.

But! With a deep breath and some pointy tweezers, my worries turned out to be unfounded.

I really thought I messed up when this part came in. No way my old man hands are soldering this.

First three actual, for real, production, post-QC, Museum Controllers!

And now I have a demo on Friday, for the whole tourism board...I think I'll show them lights and buttons, since I have lights and buttons 😅

PSA: no matter how curious you are, don't try this. I did so you don't have to. It is far worse than you're imagining.

And of course, just minutes after the design was accepted and production started on 50x of the new Museum Controller 2.1 boards, I realized something else I should have done.

The Jeanne d'Arc parade went incredibly well from where I was, I'm really proud. There's no way to see from the inside and I can't wait to see coverage of it. Here's my blurry selfie. If you were at the parade, I was the guy yelling "justice for Joan!", "retrial!", and otherwise pumping up the crowd
