We have this in psychology! We have the Society for Teaching of Psychology and it has its own Facebook group and conference where we do this and solicit advice. It works, but it's relatively small. I think if we did it on a larger scale it might need to be more heavily monitored for bad faith.

Yes! I have this problem with iPads. My university has a contract with Apple and gives every incoming student an iPad (love the program) I just wish it was with Microsoft and they could have Surface tablets instead so they'd act like computers instead of phones.
