Maybe it will be like future starting pitcher Adam Wainwright becoming the Cardinals closer in the 2006. All Wainwright did was pitch 9 innings, allowing no runs and collecting 4 saves. And who could forget him freezing Carlos Beltran with a curveball to end the NLCS?

I remember a time--not too long ago--when a 48-yard field goal was considered a desperation move and no one blamed the kicker for missing it. Now thdy kick 50+ yarders all the time and missing that 48 yard kick will get you cut.

I don't think that Joshua is defending Buster as much as he's giving the flawed, but common, baseball executive thinking. It's a dumb reason but it's a reason.
