Medicaid provides important lifesaving help for people with disabilities. The Senate should modify the bill before them to assure that people affected by disability and their caregiving family members receive the medical coverage they need.

Coping with loss is hard. In my own experience it has been a roller coaster. I am up and then down as I deal with victories and setbacks.

Did you know employers can pay workers with disabilities less than the federal minimum wage?
Thankfully, this ableist policy is being reconsidered. The Dept. of Labor is seeking public opinion on whether to change this policy.

I have found that there is little understanding of the way I have adapted to my below-the-knee prosthetic and my immune problem. Too often I am told that I can't do what I love. I even have a doctors letter but no good. Who wants a cripple to be their minister?

An individual who has a disability can and should be able to work. It gives us a sense of belonging and dignity. Employ persons with disabilities and see how able we are!

Support for the disability community is needed to prevent cuts to our needed benefits. I don't receive any benefits even though I have three disabilities. I am passed by for work assignments so working is becoming a very difficult option.
