Highlights for me were the Duchess of Windsor’s provocatively placed lobster, how Princess Diana’s wedding dress has stood the test of time, and the (few) times the royal wardrobe has not been up to scratch… The show is available online from 24/01/24. More details via lovemondaytv

Made in Europe, it is a bitter irony that manillas were smelted down by artists in Benin to make the beautiful bronzes that Europeans proceeded to loot — One of many fascinating, disquieting things I learned visiting Hew Locke’s ‘What have we here!’ exhibition at @thebritishmuseum.bsky.social

It’s interesting how much emotion-based research is still framed by the essential idea that emotions are universal, predictable and defined at birth, and discernible through changing face expressions. Emotions are social constructs that produce myriad physical responses.
