Wow! Those are some pretty shots! I wonder what the rest of the film looks like?

I want good scripts. I want proper framing, blocking, lighting, color grading and VFX. I want these things to feel like events. I want my movies to feel like fucking movies.

I’m just tired of these “by committee” productions. I’m tired of creative indecision. I’m tired of “we’ll shoot this in front of a green screen and decide what it looks like later”-ass filmmaking. I’m tired of “let’s get this Disney paycheck”-ass filmmaking.

Look man, making a movie is hard, and making a WATCHABLE movie is even harder. I do think it’s an achievement that Disney/Marvel has made so many *watchable* movies in row (call that “reliable mediocrity”).

Myself, there are about 8 of those movies that I’ve actually revisited in earnest. If I only like about a third of these movies… can I really call this a good franchise?

I suppose a better question is, out of the 23 Infinity Saga movies, how many of them are of actual quality? How many of them do you actually want to go back and watch?

With this in mind, how many pre-Endgame movies have you given a pass to because they were building to Thanos?

The problem with the current MCU isn’t that they aren’t properly building toward something, it’s that many of these projects aren’t good enough to stand on their own merits. If they were all great, you’d see a lot less people complaining.
