For 38 years, PRAMS has collected critical data on maternal-child health with the goal to reduce infant morbidity and mortality. CDC has officially halted the 2024 PRAMS data collection for the participating 46 states and the future is uncertain.

Data point: I heard from the SRO on a grant application that should have been reviewed last week. He indicated that they were allowed to start rescheduling study section meetings as of this afternoon.

From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.

Our umbrella review examined inequalities in weight-related digital intervention uptake/engagement/effectiveness in adults. We found interventions were effective irrespective of age, but men benefited more than women. Other inequality indicators (e.g., income, education) were rarely studied.

We found shockingly high rates of nicotine pouch use in US military personnel-23.8%! Considerably higher than previously reported rates among civilians, indicating need for intervention.
