Update to the last update......had an EDG, Its an ulcer!

It has a name that I am not sharing.

Also, I can't even tolerate soup now, so that's fun! Threw up at a restaurant last night (luckily made it to the bathroom....both times).

Heres hoping the meds work.....fast!

7 weeks post surgery:
So, after not being able to keep most solids down...barium swallow shows the gerd is worse and I have a slipping hernia.....EDG shows I have an ulcer.
All in all, do not recommend RNY unless you are EXTREMELY obese, and then, meh. OOF

5 weeks post surgery.

Barium swallow shows another hernia and my reflux was not corrected……so, while I’m happy to be losing weight, I went through a BUNCH of shit for nothing.

2 weeks post surgery.....I can have soft and moist foods that have no fiber.

Apparently I'm a bear case scenario for healing.

Still weirded out that this happened but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Self care presurgery prep today! Pedicure, car detail, hair cut, beard trim, last minute essential shopping.

Anything to distract from it being day 12 of no food....still hungry, still tired, still dizzy

Day 5 of the liquid diet before my gastric bypass.......having only liquids has me at a sub 500 Cal/day in take......I'm exhausted, dizzy, and I've lost almost 20 lbs........it's too much. Wish me luck......10 days to surgery then 14 more of liquid only before soft foods.

So....I have to have a full gastric bypass to fix a plethora of digestive issues I have (also, like I'ma lose a BUNCH of weight).

Today is the first day of the mandatory liquid only 2 week diet before the surgery. It's barely noon and I already want to say fuck it :-( I'm hungry and sad. Sigh

I don't know that anyone that actually knows me follows me here, but......it's official! May 21 I will be having my second surgery to try to fix my daily pain. I have 2 wks of liquid diet before that, and probably 2-3 more, then a slow crawl back to food. Nervous, but excited to maybe feel better

The fact that @hankgreen.bsky.social is one of the “Essential Gays of Bluesky” has me both concerned and delighted (this is not a comment on him, I love him, he is amazing).

It's that point of the semester people....I have hit...."The Wall (tm)"

I'm exhausted, my students are exhausted, everyone is emotionally drained and can no longer function. 53% of a class didn't even OPEN their most recent homework.

16 weeks semesters are both too long and not long enough.

Apparently I'm also here now......no clue why or what will happen.
