Still going on this side - FFC and Denver Broncos
The Willian deal in itself is fine but speaks of the horrific lack of imagination that the club have now in looking for players.

Simply put, the club needs to just be a little brave and dare to be innovative and actually accept that on some signings, you may need to take just a little bit of risk.

If that means dropping the PL/European proven filter that the club have put in because they’re still haunted by the 2018 window, then so be it. They can’t keep functioning like this, especially with the threat of PSR above them.

Regardless, paying BIG money for PL players when you’ve previously had a successful policy of paying lower amounts (a La Raul, Diop, Castagne, even Willian) for them isn’t functional.

Fulham *need* to take some risks in the summer market ahead and find ways to get younger.

Although I do think you can save ESR by swapping him and Iwobi positionally. Why Silva hasn’t tried that? I’m not sure. But at the moment, it’s looking bad.

But that you need to play Berge + Lukic in front of Andersen to cover for his warts isn’t a remedy for long term success.

30m on ESR (a bizarre rebuilding project who loses all progress mentally and physically with any sort of injury) and Andersen (who needs one of the league’s best defensive RB’s next to him to look comfortable) is looking like a horrific outlay for 60m.

You’re not getting any sort of value there.

Fulham badly need ANY sort of imagination in their recruitment ideas. They’re hopelessly stuck on the PL veteran/tested route like an angst lover and can’t quite get off it. They need to get off this ideology as well as Marco calling his mates/agents and asking “who have you got?”
