Melbourne, Australia. Quantum electrodynamics of awareness.
My strategy to solve "the hard problem":
1. Find the locations of conscious experience information.
2. Understand the QED at such locations.
Then the physics of human awareness will be understood.
Here's the current front-page photo for that "Live" article on the UK Independent.
Doesn't Trump look at these photos of himself and realize what a chump he looks?
Trump 1.0 had top photographers making him look like a Giant of Men by using low camera angles.
Where did those photographers go?

I think this photo which I just grabbed from the front page of www.independent.co.uk gives some idea of how British press photographers make and publish photos of him.
The age and nastiness show through clearly in a way that US press photographers do not show.
It shows what they hide from US public.

Just vaguely on this topic, at least 6 "leftists" tried to assassinate Mussolini.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassi...

None of them succeeded, obviously.
They all had poor organisational skills or couldn't shoot straight.
An example was the Irish woman Violet Gibson.

A single fatal road accident involving an old driver sparks demands for more intensive regulation.
But a hundred road deaths due to middle-aged people is accepted as normal.
www.abc.net.au/news/2025-07...
Their graph shows that 65+ drivers caused about 10% of road deaths.

I still have my copy of this comic which I bought in the late 1970s.
This is what comes to mind when I browse news on Bluesky now.
I have the choice between mainstream news media which tone down the despair a lot, or Bluesky which gives an undiluted dose of despair.
Maybe next decade will be better…

NOAA offers a very nice tool for computing Magnetic North anywhere on Earth at any time in history.
www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag/calcu...
It's good to see that NOAA is still being generous to the world, providing this free service.
The map shows central Melbourne with Magnetic declination 11.91°E.

That photo in the Independent UK makes me wonder if that woman standing there is holding a bag containing "the football" with the nuclear codes.
I imagine not, but I do wonder what she's carrying there.
I also wonder why she is standing there.
It's just an add place to stand.

I just noticed that Bluesky has reached 37 million.

This was a very slow million by comparison with earlier millions.

Finally I found the Bush photo I was thinking of.
Bush and the cat are staring into the distance in the same way.
They both seem to be thinking intensely, but not seeing what's in front of them.

The USA "leads the world" in health costs as share of GDP.
www.oecd.org/en/publicati...
USA clear leader at 16.6%.
But USA life expectancy 76.4 years is well below OECD average 80.3 years.
This shows the extreme inefficiency of the USA's private insurance system.
Maximum cost, below-average outcome.

I suspect Trump particularly hated the round table format.
It's too democratic for him.
Like King Arthur's round table, everyone equal.
Trump is only treated like a King by his sycophants and various overseas despots and dictators.
So I think that made him rush back to the Royal Court in Washington.

June 14 military parade to commemorate comrade Che Guevara's birthday.

Che Guevara:
Born June 14, 1928.
Executed October 9, 1967.

Apparently the US government wanted him taken alive to Panamá for "further interrogation".

Here's yet more proof that Dr. Guevara looked good without makeup.

This is a very interesting map (from Wikipedia, Max Naylor).

Particularly interesting is that it shows the Rus (Русь) as Vikings to the west of the Bulgars.
The article link is about pre-Viking inhabitants of Iceland.
So Vikings weren't the first, apparently.

My healthy breakfast today is banana on brie on Lebanese unleavened pita bread.
3000 years ago the Lebanese Phoenician script was adapted by Greeks for their alphabet, which the Romans adapted from the Greeks.
So now most European alphabets are adaptations of the ancient Semitic Phoenician script.

And here are eight of these nine Corellas, with the other one hidden behind a tree.
It's funny that they eat non-stop just half a metre from a busy road for half an hour, but on my lawn, the slightest rattle of my blinds makes them fly off simultaneously in half a second in panic.
Such bad logic!
May 29, 2025 at 10:20 AM
In today's bird news, nine Corellas invaded my front lawn.
Initially they were resisted by a single Noisy Miner, which quickly changed its mind and started eating instead.
If often think I could sell the Corellas for $1k each in the UK.
But in Melbourne we often have 30 at a time in the garden.

There are some "issues" with this image. There are some logical inconsistencies in the structure of the metal fence, which sometimes seems to go through 3 of the dogs, and sometimes the metal terminates strangely in the air. Also EXIF data is missing, and there is a strange grainy quality.

Humans were in Britain 500,000 years ago.
There was Mousterian culture, Cheddar Man, Celts (after Stonehenge people), etc.
England was easy to invade.

CNN article discussing likely current thinking on the Russian side in the war to annex Ukraine.
edition.cnn.com/2025/05/01/p...
If Russia believes Ukraine is the homeland of Russia, then Ukraine should rule Russia!
The article has a nice photo of a remote-control land-robot in a training exercise.

This video is very, very much worth watching.
It makes crystal clear that Trump is no longer mentally competent.
He has a kind of dream-like perception of a concocted fantasy world.
Everyone else can see that this photo is fake.
Only Trump is deluded as to the nature of this image.

This is an indication of how international hostilities will start in future.
Particularly by China against Taiwan.
www.abc.net.au/news/2025-04...
The Chinese are explicitly saying they have brand new equipment to cut submarine cables.
So-called hybrid warfare is developing fast.
