I’m deeply grateful to @neurocure.bsky.social
for this investment in our vision of an independent research program. A heartfelt thank you to my mentor, Prof. Dietmar Schmitz, for his support, & to all our collaborators. We are ready to lead and drive this new line of discovery.

Our program will create state-of-the-art, data-driven models of human interneurons to bridge the "micro-macro" gap, from single-neuron dendritic computations up to the network rhythms that fail in 'oscillopathies' like schizophrenia.

This fellowship provides the critical catalyst to launch our ambitious research program: building the first 'human-in-silico' platform to decode the role of GABAergic inhibition in human cognition.

This is the next step in establishing my own research line.

This new work takes the next step: from what (smart dendrites) to why (to control oscillations). A huge thank you to my mentors DietmarSchmitz & Matthew Larkum. Hope this work sparks new ideas & experiments! #Dendrites #Hippocampus #Interneurons #AcademicChatter

The backstory: In 2019, our @natcomms.nature.com computational paper doi.org/10.1038/s414... suggested that interneurons have 'smart' nonlinear dendrites. Later Experiments proved it right. Now, we're predicting what those dendrites do.
