🧵3/4 Over half of all were treated empirically in the absence of bac confirmation. We discuss that improvements in sputum sample collection, linkage to diagnostics, non-sputum based tests and standardization of treatment for bac unconfirmed TB needs to be prioritized. 🧪🥼🏷️

🧵2/4 Lessons: Over 3/4 of screening events did not identify any individuals with B+ TB. But significant geographical variation was identified (10 fold!) Programs should consider geographical targeting in high prev areas to maximize yields. We discuss various options for this.
