It feels like an act of gaslighting myself to try to tell myself that I'm safe when I walk into the offices at the local health jurisdiction I work at. None of us can say our hostile encounters with the public are zero.

I kinda think it's all antisemitism. Like regardless of the flavor, it's still antisemitism. I kinda just expect it in any space I'm in and know that sometimes I'll get nacho cheese and other times I'll get cool ranch.

I think it might be that 3/4 of commercials in general are for drugs because we don't have laws restricting the advertising of pharmaceuticals in the US. For online and streamed content the targeting for ads is so vague. I'm not saying it should be this way. I personally hate every GLP1 ad I get.

If there isn't an explicitly written rule then you've got a social norm which is more of a suggested way of behaving that everyone accepted being peer pressured into. You don't have to accept peer pressure.

If there is an explicitly written rule, you can change that rule. It'll take a while, but you are very capable of being a nag or mobilizing a nag to nag in your behalf.

So much of the rule following we do is based on norms we have been trained/socialized to believe are hard rules. Seriously, look at a barrier you have set up at your place of work and find a f explicitly written policy for it.
