Update. Found it when clearing out bookshelves of stuff that uni-bound kids accumulated over the years. Turns out that Offspring Number 2 was using it for their ‘tin wisal’ lessons in primary school.

Shirkers Alley in Munich. Used by locals to bypass the nearby Nazi monument where paying homage was expected (and enforced). en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr%C3%B...

Child 3’s history textbook has a nice little section about “the influence and spread of inoculation since 1700”

I see the nonsense-mongers haven’t updated their arguments in 150 years.

Woukd you be able to delete or edit the screenshot, to remove technical info on the method? WHO guidance on preventing further deaths strongly recommends avoiding such detail in any coverage, including social media.

“it was a totally solitary life”

“local people would consult with Christine”

Solitary 🤣🤣🤣

She’s there in the church 24/7. Like NHS 111 but also citizens advice bureau, GP, counsellor, marriage guidance office and involuntary companion to anyone the pub has evicted for being too drunk.

Shocking waste of olives.

Though the website indicates it’s now completely sold out of all large jars. No such thing as bad publicity, maybe?

Picture from the UK Royal Family’s official social media channel with Charles in a suit and Zelenskyy in his usual black outfit. Shaking hands at the wide open front door to a palace.

Spite is a really weird English word as well. “In spite of” is different to “to spite” which is different to “out of spite”. And then there’s “Despite”.

The Spanish has a dozen words for different aspects of it, the dictionary tells me that the Irish is ainneoin which is another multipurpose word.
