I haven't had the attention span lately for literary fiction, which is why I still have 20 hours left of The Overstory on Audible. But, I think the most comforting thing I could dive into now is some good old Soviet-era literature. Those guys understood gaslighting and surviving an absurd govt.

My next read will be Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States." I feel more alienated than ever from the US and I think this will ground that feeling and provide helpful context for my activism going forward.

This delightful and intellectually refreshing book helped distract me in the days after the election. It's fun to watch someone take on such cultural sacred cows as minimalism and mindfulness.

I want to read more biographies/memoirs of women who fought against the patriarchy and/or lived their best lives in spite of it. Any suggestions?
