Hey All- we are deep in the swing of data collection season for our MSc, and some of the students are looking for autistic/ADHD adults for a study (see poster below). Please share if you can.
Recruitment poster, it says: Durham University is conducting research on how autistic and ADHD adults perceive emotions in others, and we need participants! The experiment should take 1 5 - 2 0 minutes, is conducted online through questionnaires and watching videos, and participants will receive £ 5 Amazon voucher for participating. Looking to hear from disabled adults in the United Kingdom on how they feel about physical activity messages to complete an online survey. The work has been co-produced with disabled adults, and to take part you must be: 1. Disabled or have a long term health condition 2. Be aged between 19 and 64 3. Live in the UK 4. We used a participatory photovoice method to develop 4 key themes: (1) ‘everything shattered’, (2) ‘being seen’, (3) ‘understanding not judgement, please’ and (4) ‘here’s a leaflet, off you go’. We also formulated a list of action points.
A set of actions, which are ‘nothing about us, without us’ – ensuring that autistic people are involved in improving diagnostic criteria and pathways, staff training and resources. ‘Listen up!’ – autistic people must be listened to and their experiences acknowledged and validated, by a range of different groups such as doctors, clinicians, policymakers and researchers. Finally, ‘Flexibility and openness in services’, with the need for readily available services with different options to enable personalisation, as well as services appreciating wider neurodivergence and intersectionality.
