UPDATE: From the original poster of the letter on FB:
I just now got off the phone with Allan Schappert, the author of this letter. He’s not on social media. When I shared how his letter has travelled, he said, “I’m gobsmacked.” He wrote to share his story, and perhaps to let other veterans know they’re not alone, and he’s amazed that he touched a nerve. “The pen is mightier than the sword!” exclaimed this pilot who once wielded the nuclear sword at the controls of an American B52. Whew. He thanks you, Peter, for sharing his words. Allan and I have plans to grab a beer together this weekend.

Remember the saying that capitalism eventually collapses into fascism? Well American democracy and capitalism are quickly collapsing into a bad reality show starring a bunch of odd characters from conservative media, daytime TV and right wing podcasts, all covering for what sure looks like a heist.
