The othering of people they disagree with means it's easier for ICE to murder them (with no accountability). It's psychological conditioning, sort of like calling Jews rats in 1930s Germany.

Sure, keep working with the old rules: that ICE can be trained better. The reality is - they've been told over and over that they have no rules and will not be punished, so training is irrelevant. Those predisposed to seeing citizens as terrorists will keep killing people.

It's human nature - some people want to be in situations where they can kill others and get away with it. If there is no accountability, this will happen with ICE as they've been told repeatedly - there are no rules of engagement.

And the conduct of every ICE member needs to be reviewed for lawfulness. If there is a time after this, we need to purge those who did not follow our laws.

know it will be interpreted to mean, unfortunately, by the bigots who run The Examiner, for example -- That doesn't mean that you have to break anything. One thousand people sitting down some place, not letting anybody by, not anything happen, can stop any machine, including this machine!
January 8, 2026 at 12:57 AM
And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all! Mario Savio 1964

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even passively take part, you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop.

What did we do with the former Gestapo after the war was over? I see a lot of trials, a lot of need for those corporate prisons you and your repub friends love so much.

I'm very relieved Oxford's Foghorn Leghorn thinks there's nothing to be concerned about.

But CBS investors don't make as much cash and please their Repub overlords that way.

As Adam Serwer's book is titled: the Cruelty Is the Point. The message is in the first attack, the threats of execution and money - not what a judge says at some point in the future. Repubs have told millions of veterans - shut up and get in line.

DHS has already - with no investigation - labeled her a terrorist.
January 7, 2026 at 8:05 PM
Not the point. Either we have the rule of law, or we don't. Isn't that what we should be worried about? She will never 'pay' and isn't the failure of our system the issue that needs to be discussed?
January 7, 2026 at 7:11 PM
"Paying" for a summary execution of a citizen - this is just a desired way to terrorize people. With his pardon powers, there is no payment needed as there will be no consequences.
January 7, 2026 at 6:50 PM
Let's be honest - ICE functions as an extrajudicial military, and with presidential pardon powers, ICE executioners will not be prosecuted. Waving the rules that we should follow but they don't - it's mental masturbation. They don't care what the law says and their boss has their backs.

We hear about shootings all day, every day. This was a summary execution.
January 7, 2026 at 6:37 PM
ICE executed a citizen for not following vague orders.
January 7, 2026 at 6:36 PM
This was a summary execution.
January 7, 2026 at 6:35 PM
Call it what it is. It was a summary execution for not following orders, not a shooting.
January 7, 2026 at 6:34 PM
You mean executed for not following vague orders, not shot. She was executed.
January 7, 2026 at 6:22 PM
It wasn't a shooting, it was a summary execution for not following orders.
January 7, 2026 at 6:06 PM
It's the correct verb executed?

His goal is to destroy NATO. Greenland is the best way to do that. We invade, then Denmark exercises Article 5. NATO will fall apart, and Trump can then also move on Canada. Russia can do what it wants in Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Baltics)
