I know. It's been a while since there's been a Photojournalism Now: Round Up post. Why? Because life is messy, busy, and I'm learning to not over extend myself (and that's been a big lesson). In fact, learning to say 'no,' to myself and others, has been super challenging and liberating. For the first time in 7 years, I am not working on my PhD...because I completed it last year and am now a newly minted Doctor of Philosophy!

Quote of the week: “My view towards AI has become ‘if you didn’t take the time to write it, I won’t take the time to read it. It’s just asinine at this point, we’re drowning in absolute meaningless garbage.”
You won’t find these on the shelf. Newspapers print an AI-generated reading list with fake books.
Ah, summer. The perfect time to get lost in a romantasy — or finally pick up Proust or Middlemarch. The Chicago Sun-Times, the city's second-biggest newspaper, recommended some summer books to its re...

I reviewed photojournalist Adam Ferguson‘s first monograph Big Sky, a thoughtful, nuanced visual portrayal of the Australian outback. It was published today in the French English journal L’Oeil de la Photographie/The Eye of Photography

AANZCA 2024 wraps after three days of really fascinating discussions around the concept of “pause” at RMIT Melbourne. Thoroughly enjoyed presenting with my colleagues from Monash on the use of GAI in media and communication education.
