I'm 34 now. I first "came out" to getting someone in World of Warcraft at 16, and managed to find a very accepting and supportive community there. Came out to a college friend at 18, and came out to my parents shortly after.

Thank you. It helps that I've been putting distance between my family and I for a while now and I don't depend on them for anything. Still feel guilty sometimes (they weren't bad *parents*) but they're firmly pro-fascist at this point, so no regrets.
