A countertop ice maker. It's a small black cube with a transparent door on the top that lets you see the ice and a fan on the side that it uses for refrigeration. This one's black and is very similar to the model I own, but they're all good

Saw this on reddit, and my immediate thought was also the top comment - "it goes in the square hole"
