I'm solidly on the book side because that's what I grew up with, but the show dragged up two old memories.
People get so attached to a pov that they can't see beyond themselves.
I used arguments about the books to see the pov of others that couldn't see past their own BS.

What I learned was to listen, then stop listening.
There is always someone that will say you're too wordy, and others that complain about descriptions or what you don't say. They'll have opinions on every sentence.
But in the end, they aren't writing the story. You and the characters are.
