Our immigration laws and quotas are, to put it mildly, complete shit.
People from all over the world wait years and *decades* for approval to immigrate to the USA. There's no reason for that. We can do a pretty thorough automated background check on someone these days

We do have problems here. Poverty in the wealthiest nation on earth...possible (again) because of massive concentration of wealth at the top (again). Homelessness, food insecurity, and poor health because of the poverty. Abuses of power
