Debating the ‘cause’ of autism doesn’t help us. It fuels the idea we shouldn’t exist. r/AutisticAdults submitted 11 hours ago by theautisticcoach I keep seeing people argue back and forth about whether autism is “caused” by Tylenol, or vaccines, or whatever the latest scapegoat is. Autism isn’t caused by anything. Autism is not a brain disease, a side effect, or a mistake. It’s inherited. It’s natural. It’s human. We have always existed and we always will. The whole framework of looking for a “cause” of autism is actually a way of looking for blame. And blame only makes sense if you already believe that being autistic is bad. That’s the problem. That’s the violence hidden underneath all of these debates. When politicians like Trump or RFK Jr. talk about autism in terms of “causes” or “prevention,” they are talking about eliminating us. That’s eugenics. Disabled and autistic people are always the first target when society starts talking about “prevention” and “reducing numbers.” It’s the opening move in a larger plan to erase disabled people. And honestly, I’m just as angry at liberals who think that arguing about what “really causes autism” is helping us. It isn’t. It plays into the exact same harmful framing. It treats autism like a pathology to be traced, explained, and, eventually, eradicated. Autism isn’t a tragedy to be prevented. We’re not broken. We’re not a mistake. We are people. We are part of humanity. We’ve always been here, and we always will be. If you actually want to support autistic people, stop debating “causes” and start listening to us. Stop treating us like a political football. Stop weaponizing us. And start building a world where we don’t need to defend our existence in the first place.

This book is making me feel things differently. I've always low key felt the emotional abuse did more of the damage I carry than the being hit.
When children experience long periods of being powerless to obtain needed connection with a parent, they become increasingly anxious, upset and depressed. In Cptsd-engendering families, the absence of care and concern is extreme. A caretaker is rarely or never available for support, comfort or protection. If this is what you suffered, you then grew up feeling that no one likes you. No one ever listened to you or seemed to want you around. No one had empathy for you, showed you warmth, or invited closeness. No one cared about what you thought, felt, did, wanted or dreamed of. You learned early that, no matter how hurt, alienated, or terrified you were, turning to a parent would do nothing more than exacerbate your experience of rejection.

I can't even feel enough to be thankful for what they gave on this day. All I've got right now is they gave everything so their bigot asshat remedial kids and grandkids could fall for fascist ideology hook, line, and sinker and help get everything they fought for taken away.

I've been an OPM employee for nearly a decade and a Federal Employee for almost 20 years. In short, there's a hostile takeover of the federal civil service. Let me say this in no uncertain terms - OPM has been compromised and taken over. The very backbone of American Government, the HR of all HR in the U.S. Government has been taken over by outside politicals. In just five days, they managed to push aside dozens of non-political, career civil servants who were there specifically to prevent the civil service from becoming the President's henchmen. The current Acting Director, Charles Chuck Ezell is a low-level branch chief. He's the friendliest "yes man" you'll ever meet. It's clear they pushed aside all the high-level civil servants who refused to do Donald Trump's bidding, until they found Chuck. Under his name, they've sent numerous requests to all the agencies to collect information on gov't employees that they see as a threat to their agenda. Instructions say to send these lists to Amanda Scales. But Amanda is not actually an OPM employee, she works for Elon Musk. She wasn't even properly cleared by OPM Personnel Security. Our CIO, Melvin Brown, was pushed aside just one week into his tenure because he refused to setup email lists to send out direct communications to all career civil servants. Such communications are normally left up to each agency. Instead, someone literally walked into our building and plugged in an email server to our network to make it appear that emails were coming from OPM. It's been the one sending those various "test" message you've all seen. We think they're building a massive email list of all federal employees to generate mass RIF notices down the road. We at OPM are watching helplessly as our government is being systematically dismantled bit by bit. Even the IGs are being fired to prevent them from investigating the numerous whistleblower complaints we've filed. Please share this and tell the world that OPM is not the bad guy.

Why does Microsoft only drop these slow AF updates when I feel like logging into wow for the first time in a month? Every time. And I can't just play anyway and install it later. Any pc I've ever had chokes my connection and lags my game until I give tf up and install it.
