My husband used his last week on graph paper to help eldest child work out where the furniture would fit best in the shoebox she’s just acquired in London. Along with scale cut outs of said furniture.

Oh yes! I’d forgotten those.

Nearly choked on my croissant reading it this morning. I moved to Shepherd’s Bush in 1973. Julie’s restaurant had already opened in Portland Road and was the hangout du jour for rich kids slumming it and musicians,
models and the nefarious. Gentrification was well and truly underway.
